FAQ

There are always questions that you might have, the common ones are answered below.

What will registration look like?

You will pre-register online. About 7 days before event day we will send you an email. You will then need to complete the Competitor Responsibility Statement online - this will release your race number and avoids the queue at number pick up. If you have missed any email communication you can find it by going to your my.challenging.events account.

When is the race briefing?

To avoid crowds we will do the race briefing via a webinar on Wednesday evening. You will be emailed a google meets invite. Don't worry if you can't make the briefing, it will be recorded for you to watch when you can. You must watch the briefing. Any emergency updates will be communicated on race day, either via email or as you head into transition. Go to your my.challenging.events account.

When will i get my race pack?

Race packs will be made 72 hours before pick up. They will contain your wristband and swim hat. There will be extra registration desks to allow the queue to move quickly. You must know your race number before arrival. We encourage all athletes to collect their pack from Bucklers Hard on Saturday between 3pm and 5pm. For those unable to pick up their pack on Saturday you can collect on Sunday from Bucklers Hard at 5:45am.

Will I be able to get coffee/food?

Yes! You can get hot drinks and food available at the cafe in Bucklers Hard Visitor centre - a short walk from the venue. They take card payment.

What time does it start?

Sprint and standard will start between 6:45 and 7:25. Middle and Aquabike will start from 7:25am. Duathlon will start at 8:30am.

Where is transition?

Transition will be at Bucklers Hard at the top of the village street.

Will there be an aid station?

There will be 3 Aid Stations per lap: at Transition, along the lane between Longmeads Copse & Newlands Cottages and at Bailey’s Hard supplying energy drink and water. Competitors are advised to carry their own gels / food if required.

What are the cut off times?

Swim: 1 hour from your start, the swim safety crew will judge if you are not going to make the swim cut-off & will offer 2 choices; 1. Complete the swim & do not carry onto the bike section or, 2. Be picked up by the safety boat & then continue with the race with an incomplete swim time. Cycle: 5 hours from race start, after this time you will not be permitted to start the run. Run: 8 hours from race start, after this time you will be collected from the run course by the broom wagon.
